Since 1955, with the launch of the iconic CM Lodestar, we remain dedicated to innovation, working to provide high-quality products for entertainment venue applications, big and small. With CM Entertainment Technology (CM-ET) brand electric chain motors, ratchet lever hoists, chain, and rigging; we provide comprehensive solutions for your toughest challenges.
Electric Chain Hoists are the Preferred Hoist of the Entertainment Vertical.
The Electric hoists quiet operation, precise variable-speed control, programmable positioning, automation compatibility, and ability to be networked and operated remotely make them the technology of choice whenever a production is in public view.
Typically, the hoist attached to the load rather than the anchor, allowing load-in and strike to happen much faster. Having a hoist that can operate both in motor-up (hoist body to the anchor) and motor-down (hoist body attached to the load) configurations is important for setting up and taking down quickly.
Truss Lifting
Lighting and production truss sections, often weighing thousands of pounds each, are raised from the arena floor to working height via electric hoists hung from the venue's structural steel. The truss forms the backbone of the entire overhead production.
LED Video Wall Suspension
Large-format LED screen panels hung in arrays above and behind the stage are among the heaviest loads in modern touring production, requiring precisely synchronized multi-hoist lifts to maintain flat, level screen geometry at height.
PA System Hangs
Line array speaker systems for main hangs, side hangs, and delay towers are suspended by electric hoists, with load monitoring critical given the weight and the audience directly below.
Lighting Position Adjustments
Electric hoists on overhead electrics allow the entire lighting rig for a given pipe position to be lowered to working height for focus and maintenance, then returned to trim height precisely. This is essential for high-bay venues where working at height with lifts would be impractical during a busy production schedule.
